#1I just returned from another excursion to NY to visit Fred Pitella and others.
I want to thank so many for showing me more Houdini memorabilia than I ever
expceted to see. Mario Carrandi opened his home, and warehouse to us. Words
cannot describe how wonderful that collection is. I even bought a handcuff
and Fred and I were graciously given a box of handcuff keys which we enjoyed
dividing up between us later that night. We had the rare opportunity to visit
Kevin Connolly's collection, which in my opinion is the finest Houdini collection in private hands. WE did all this with a wonderful older gentleman named Stanley
Palm. What a time we had!! I also saw lots more Houdini at Roger Dryer's shop.
Had lunch with Charles Reynolds, Stanley, Fred, and Mark Mitton. We had a great time.
What this trip did is excite me for the uncoming Cannon's convention. I so look
forward to seeing all of you there! I hope you're all going. Speaking of which,
here is a reminder for you all - Registration fees go up after Aug. 31st. So,
register now while it's cheaper. Save the extra cash for buying stuff when you're there. This year should be GREAT!

and his generosity in driving us around, and for everything he did. By the way,
his collection is simply unbelieveable too. I was still finding things the night before I left I had not seen before, even after two years in a row looking at it. Fred, sell the duplicates! Best Wishes to all, John Bushey
