I was the buyer some months ago for this model bought a lot of money. I sent the cuff back because they were not working. The description was "in perfect condition" The seller is not very honnest. He never refunded me my money and today he sells the cuffs again !!!!

The seller has relisted the cuffs after a bad listing under manacles. I asked him a question about the condition of the spring and his reply was:

"There is no spring tension either way. The key moves the locking lever out one way, and when you turn it the other way the other side comes in. There is no spring tension on either side, but the locking mechanisms move. I have had to relist this item because the photo sequence was messed up."

This confirms that the spring is broken and there is no way that I know of to get in there and fix it. The seller does not post his questions and answers. So if someone wants a non-working cuff, this one looks good from the outside.

Just wanted to commend you for your post. Passing along information like that, along with learning from the expertise of this groups knowledgeable participants, is what makes this site a valuable resource for any level handcuff collector. I already have a nice set of these cuffs but this might just help someone from getting ripped off.

You've welcome ! You are right, this site is a valuable resource.
I confirm the handcuffs on ebay are in bad condition. One side does not lock . It was the reason why I sent him back the cuffs. The description was 'in perfect condition'. It was not true
The seller was waiting for a long time before put them again on eBay by thinking I will forget....
So if you want to bid you are now informed

I bought the cuffs a lot of money...
I sent him back the cuffs...
This guy never refunded me...
Some months later he sells them again on eBay

He says "No Returns," but PayPal will not honor that. You can almost always win a SNAD complaint with PayPal. It's a sore point with sellers. You may have to send them back at your own expense, but that means you're risking five bucks in Priority mail postage.

If you fund your PayPal with a credit card, you can probably do a chargeback and get your postage both ways. Your credit card is more likely to honor the "No Returns" than PayPal, though.

I'll not comment on your experience with this seller, because I wasn't there.

PayPal doesn't accept "as-is" as an effective disclaimer. They'll still refund on a SNAD. PayPal can be a real PITA, although I've never had any trouble with them, buying or selling.

In the real world, as opposed to the eBay world "as-is" is a mixed bag. It gives the seller some protection, but it won't cover against deceptively described products.

If you describe an old used radio, "as-is" and it doesn't light up, you're probably covered. If you sell a pair of "Authentic Slave Shackles," you're probably not.

I sent a compaint to eBay but with no positive result.

I had a similar case this spring (item not as described) with a British seller of a set of RCS swing through cuffs and raised a claim through PayPal. It took almost three months until I won the case and finally could get my refund. PayPal was extremely slow.
