Everything starts today.

I will be arriving this afternoon and I am looking forward to three days of great fun.

I a bringing a few items for show and tell and I hope to seem many great items brought by others.

Who knows? I might even buy something new to take home.

Lots of people showed up today. We had a nice dinner then it was off to the rooms for show and tell.

So all is off to a good start.

Just got home and what a wonderful time we all had. It is great to see many old friends and meet several new ones.

As always the Cannon's have done a spectacular job and staged some of the best lectures, dealers and stage shows. Saying thank you to them and all the people who helped stage the convention is just a start. I'm sure there will be several pictures posted here within the next day or so.

I am sitting in he Las Vegas airport on the way home. Don't worry I am not puttng anything into the slot machines, I spend all my money at the show.

Mark and Sheila did a superb job once again. The entire weekend was great. It was so nice to meet all my old collector and escape artist friends and to make some new ones.

What did I buy? A strange looking Pratt nipper, a pair of Darbies made from end locks by David Deval, a JG WWII cuff with strange markings and a bunch of new stuff from Chris at Discount Handcuff Warehouse.

So now it is back to work. (whatever that means?) Can't wait unti the next convention.

I know I say this after every convention, but I had a blast this year! I'll give ya three guesses (and the first two don't count) as to why I enjoyed this convention so much! It was great to see old friends. It was also great meeting new people. I was sitting on the plane headed back to the Memphis area thinking, "I'm not ready to be 'Mom' again!"

Hello convention goers;
I'm at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Just got out of
outpatient surgery and get the preliminary results Thursday afternoon.
I have no appointments tomorrow, so I'm glad I brought some files,
hammer, punches, and spring steel. Tomorrow I'll repair a broken
Pinkerton I bought from Jay Leslie. Hopefully the drugs they gave me
won't make me stupid enought to pull apart my new Pratt or Bean Giant because
they work fine. I'm just curious as to what's inside them.

Thanks much to Gene Brogan for the Pratt, Brad Darling for the Prov. Tool HC, Freddy who actually got rid of something from his collection, making it the most treasured piece in my collection, and everyone for such a great time; Joe Fox, Elliot Cutler, Freddy, Joe Lauher, Jay Leslie, Gordon Gluff, Pat Culliton (congrats on the Silver Cuff award), Mark Lyons, Mark Lundblad, Bill, Margarette, Ron Spitz, Lars Holst, Michael Busch, Peter, Stan Willis, and especially Mark and Sheila Cannon. Also, anyone I forgot I'll blame it on the drugs. I only got out of surgery 45 minutes ago. Everyone at the convention gave me an incredible lift just when it was needed. Freddy - thanks for helping me save money. I can always count on you.
The convention was incredible, and lots of fun for all.

I was impressed with everything about this one.
The great range in dealers and Fred's wonderful escapology display.
Some of the best lectures the convention has ever had.
The show on Saturday brought new faces and escapes that are going to be hard to top.
Two years is going to be too long to wait for the next one.

There was much disscussion at the convention regarding putting handcuffs in your carry on baggage. I desided to take a chance and had five pair in my carry on bag including a dollar cuff and a Stotz.(I didn't think about it at the time but the barrel lock on the Stotz does resemble a gun barrel.) I left for the airport plenty early in case there was a problem.

There was no problem at all-they did not search the bag. I made sure I had the convention documents and collector info on top including Stan Willis' latest CD.

Until they pass a law/rule against it, I will carry my cuffs on the plane while traveling in the US.

As all already stated; it was a really good Convention.
Very nice to meet all fellow collectors and friends and spend a lot of time together.
A was a lot of handcuff talk, laughters and nice dinners. The selection of antique
handcuffs for sale was very limited compared to earlier Conventions but I sold almost all
of the duplicates I brought.

There were a lot of what I would call uncommon cuffs and leg irons at very good prices. Some of the cuffs I saw were the Bean Giant, Pratt nippers-both models, H&R Super leg irons, Stotz, Dollar cuffs -barrel and flat key, Horst Mobit, Rankin handcuff, Prov. Tool leg iron, Tower double lock with stop, Gill thumbcuffs, Henry handcuffs (NIB),Tower Pinkerton, Batman handcuff (McColl), Judd leg irons, American Handcuffs-all kinds including some prototypes, and a La Policiere (brass-pretty rare). I'm sure there were many that I missed but there were some very nice cuffs at the show.

Thanks to all the dealers who made it a very good show for the handcuff people. The entertainment was first class as well.

Congratulations to Mark Lundblad who won the handcuff identification contest. The contestants had to guess the handcuff by handling the key. Very tough competition from all over the world!!

Hi everyone,

I am still very impressed from the convention and I would like to thank everyone who was there to make it the special event it was for me and my family!

Usually I would not mention any names here as I surely would forget to mention other names, but I would like to thank especially Sheila and Mark Cannnon for the incredible amount of work they must have put into this! And special thanks go out to John Bushey for the performance at our table, something I (and my family) will never forget!
