Hello everyone,

in fact I am the "winner" of this auction, but as it seems some explanation might be useful.

Sometimes when I am interested in an item and am not able to be at the computer when the auction ends it may be possible that I place a bid that is rather insanely above the serious value of the item.

I also did this on the August Schwarz (always hoping that no-one else acts as insanely as I do).

When you have a look at the bid history (please follow the link and scroll down to the very bottom)

you will see that a bidder placed a bid of EUR 3600 to find out my maximum and then bid just below it.

Of course I will not pay the end-amount of the auction but will offer EUR 125, which seems to be the auction's regular end price.

a real collector doesn't ask "Is it worth bidding as high". He just buys, if he really want's to get it. Or You aren't a real collector.

That seems like a rather nasty new ebay trick. Imagine pulling this at a real auction ... "3600!" " - I mean, oops, sorry, I didn't mean to bid that high." Have fun getting out of that one.

Of course the "real" collector doesn't care about the price.

But maybe that's the difference between collecting and obsession. I know I'm borderline myself.

I agree; 150 EUR at the most. I have seen more of these (except for the markings KD Bochum). It is one of the 'regular' Schwarz models. Interesting are the two keys with serialnumber!

I can't find anything special on this chaincuff; I have one like this, marked R.E. (meaning Rijkseigendom - property of the Dutch state)

@ August Schwarz Collector: do you have any rare Schwarz item in your collection and is it visable online?

I have owned a number of these through the years but personally, this is the first pair I have seen with ditched bows like that which are commonly seen on North American swing through cuffs.

I am certain this feature is not unusual enough to command such a high price but to me at least it seems somewhat uncommon.

I'd never sell under those conditions. I'd sit on the cuffs. The seller is a small timer, though and probably susceptible to blackmail.

It is probably too small an amount to launch a lawsuit over.

Unfortunately, with the new ebay Fraud Protection System, it's hard to even add these sorts of people to your banned bidder list.
