Can you give any information as to their provenance.

My first reaction, and before reading your name at the top of the message, was to say "Ten dollar Indian junk," but I doubt you would fall for that.

Can you examine the welds and offer the opinion as to whether they are forge welded? The photos aren't clear, there. The chain links look awfully small for smith-welded chain, but some smiths were finicky and liked small links. It does run up the cost of the project, though.

They are intriguing.

the one with the short chain they appear to be dutch cuffs
I do not know for sure for their age they are well made

the other cuff with the small links the men where they came from told me he picked them up
from finland but I do not sure if they realy are
they have A left hand treat key are also well made for their age
I hope to place more pics this week

You'd have to wonder why there is so much wear at the ends of each link (Top Pic). Has the chain been used for a long period of time in a different life? Someone shackled in these would remain still and not create so much wear whereas something else might be constantly moving/grazing. Or it is a collection of pieces assembled together. That type of end lock are very common on ebay.
