Newbie: Looking for Ball and Chain info.

First off this whole hand cuff collecting is very interesting. I'm a frequant visitor of gun shows, flee markets etc. and have seen them but never paid much attention! At any rate, I have a 30# ball with a 29" heavy chain attacted and I'd like to get some info. on it. Where do I start? I was told it came from Joliet prison in Illinois or Stateville.

I had a couple of ball and chains I was asked to hold and kindly did so and then the "buyer" never followed through.
