I just purchased a piar of s&w mod100 pats pending and would like some info on them. they always say they are rare but i was wanting to know just how "rare" they are and what they are worth. any info is very much appreciated. thanks

The pats pending model is actually a "pre" model 100.

The first pat pending model only has double lock slots on key sides only. The second has double lock slots on both sides and is also stamped pats pending. Not sure about production numbers and which one was made in lower quantities. The experts here might be able to answer because ive also wondered the same thing.

Smith & Wesson has sold well over 7,000,000 of the standard model M-100 according to experts here.
All i know is if you are going to add a model 100 to your collection....
You might as well have a pats pending model made in lower quantities. Im sure many will agree.

All pats pending models Ive owned have smaller chain links and are the handcuffs spaced closer together.

I have an older pair of the 100s with the long dimple and they have a shorter chain than any of the other 100s i have. i also found it interesting that the serial # starts with j rather than just numbers any idea what thats all about??
