Can't we play nicely?

Hello everyone,

While my collection is very small (only 13 rare cuffs) what it lacks in size, I make-up for that with my own knowledge of each piece. It is actually more fun to research "patent-stop" or "Romer & co" than it is to bash each other about what they do not own/know. I have only been reading this forum for the past 2 weeks, and I have gained more info on my cuffs than I have in the past 2 DECADES! The owner(s) of this website deserve great credit for their efforts! Thank-you very much!

What prompted me to post, was that in nearly every thread, some guy named "Steve" butts-in with some vicious attack on other's knowledge or even their personal OPINION. It is obvious you are a treasure-trove of info in your chosen field, however, this "one-uppmanship" behavior makes you appear jealous. I can speak about this, because when I was back in grade school (5th grade I think), I tried to impress my classmates with polished bull****. While it worked for a while, And I had plenty of people to talk to, I soon found myself without many ACTUAL, GENUINE, TRUE, REAL friends.

Between "butting in" and the sharing of useful information.

How odd that some people's opinions on this forum are taken at face value while when others try to add additional facts they are trashed at every turn.

If there is a thread and someone has more info to add to it then they should be allowed to add it.

If a member sees something inaccurate about another's post or feels they can offer a different opinion and/or theory, they should be allow to do so without the personal and childish attacks that go on and on ad nauseum.

If this is a discussion forum, discuss!

So let me get this right this post is (Can't we play nicely?) Wow interesting follow ups to such a post. Now on one hand I'm new to this sight and collecting (as most know) and love the responses from Joe and Santini...on the other hand HOLY CRAP YOU TWO FIGHT LIKE A MARRIED COUPLE LOL! Not that Joe seems to be concerned with voicing his opinions under his own name...it does really look very similiar to alot of his posts. The out of nowhere CAPS on words and often extra punctuation at the end of sentences !!!! Anyways I don't give a shi* who or if they get along as long as you both keep offering advice and expertise (when you don't have to) to this rookie then CHEERS to both of you.
