Smoothing up the closing of Smith and Wesson Cuffs

Does, anyone out there know what it takes to make the Smith and Wesson cuffs closing action work smoother?

maybe some lubrication. what is wrong with your cuffs. or why do you want the closing action to work better.

Bsides the obvious lubrication, which you should do to your cuffs, ASP, etc. everythime you clean and oil your weapon, no less than every month, you can smooth the action of Smith and Wesson model 100's by using a Dremel and very fine grit attachent and round the corners of the bow BESIDE the teeth. Do not attempt to smooth the teeth themselves or you could end up with an unsafe pair to use. I also do an "action job" on the older model 90's, but I am a Smith and Wesson trained armorer and making the action smoother and faster is much like working the trigger on a revolver. The concept is really very basic, every item mass produced is going to have some rough edges. Finding these and smoothing them up is the key. For cuffs, the best oil I have found for routine maintenance is Marvel Lubricating, or Mystery oil. It works great, doesn't draw lint, dirt etc., and even smells good. Another suggestion, if you carry the cuffs, use a case with a flap. The trendy open top cases are a little faster, but allow the mechanism to pull in moisture, dirt, and doesn't protect the finish either. Hope this helps,
