Howdy all,

Ok I have a question regarding the Pratts on ebay. How common is it to have the leather case....that is I guess if the case is original? Will likely go for more than what I personally would want to spend on them...but it would be nice to know.

The holder on ebay is at least the third style I have seen for the Pratt. I have one that has a cover flap with a snap. In general I wouldn't buy or not buy a cuff because of the holder. They have minimal value, and most were not made by the cuff maker. I have a box full old old leather pouches I can't give away. The only ones that I consider of some decent value are the ones marked "MALTBY" or marked with another old cuff manufacturer.
You will probobally get some disagreement here.

Just joking, when on the street I carried 2 cuffs on my duty belt.

Off duty I carried one S&W in my LR pocket, even though I knew that it "printed" the pocket.

Funny thing, Stan. Generally cuff holsters are a passingly interesting thing for a minute, but they just aren't cuffs.

I thought this one was interesting enough to bid on a set of Pratt's (yawn, there's two on right now). Should be fun to watch if these go for more than the usual price.

Well now there are three available on e-bay. They had one on last week and it went for $775 I doubt these three will all get to that price but who knows.

Pretty sure everyone already knew that there were some Pratt's on ebay, and posting the

auction links here isn't likely to affect the outcome. Besides that, You don't know who is bidding

on an open auction anyway.

First....anytime someone wants to post links on some auction that maybe I wasnt aware of BY ALL MEANS PLEASE DO! Second if you are not aware of what is on e-bay of all places then you would not likely be a member of this forum...and finally WHY do care if he is offering up info other collectors?

There are plenty of times when handcuffs go cheap and someone gets a well deserved deal.
Just look at Joe Lauher's recent auctions. There are alot of handcuffs that sold for way less then they are worth. Right?

Now imagine that you guys had put up links for all those cuffs that sold for a really low price...
I guarantee every one of those final sale prices would have gone alot higher and there wouldnt be a bargain left for anyone. My point is proven.

Before you know it a $3,500 mitt is going for $5,800. If you guys dont think all the buzz created here on the forum from your posts didnt drive up the cost just a little bit... you guys are insane!

If you are bidding... You should always remain silent! Dont tell a soul here. The plan is to always get the handcuff as cheap as possible so you can buy more handcuffs.

If you arent bidding... You should have respect for the people here who are trying to get the handcuff as cheap as possible.

Fair enough sir your belief is certainly true every once in a while I'm sure...I guess...maybe. It is in my opinion that those are few and far between though. I was one of the high bidders on the mitts and assure you when I got beat in the last 8 seconds it was due to he wanted it more than me and that is why he got it....and that is the only reason. Usually and I do believe 90% of the time that there is a link posted on here from eBay that the people who are buying big money cuffs or the runner ups were or would be aware of such items anyways. In summary if you want a good deal then you probably shouldn't be looking on eBay. I don't mean to sound like an arse but I have used this sight as my number one tool and to hear someone knock on someone else for posting a link for convenience just irks me I guess. The funny thing is that Atlanta casting isn't always the most pleasant gentleman (absolutley no offense intended) and then when he does something nice and posts a shortcut for convenience he gets ragged on LOL. Ah well good luck to you anonymous sir on finding your good deals on eBay.....I look forward to beating you in future auctions.

Hey, I am a nice person. (in my opinion)

I just come across as unpleasant when people come here claiming to have super stupendous handcuff related items

but cannot come up with some photos to show the forum that they aren't just full of crap and jerking us all around.

Those links and posts here only drove up the price of the mitts to the point where you folded.
Now... Had you said nothing,remained silent,didnt make a stink about them,quit asking questions till auction was over and played possum till it was time to bid,and never bid once til the exact last second.... You would have won those mitts!!!!!!!!! I guarantee you would have won them for alot less then your final losing bid.

As far as beating me in future auctions?
I can make you lose without even bidding.

OK first things first....Atlanta anytime you have responded to my posts and questions you have been more than helpful and pleasant...I was more making a joke referring to the post of which you are talking about...sorry if it came out wrong.

Second to Mr. Anonymous ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The reason why the Mckenzie Mitts went for such an amount was due to the rarity of the item, the availability, and the eagerness the winner had to own this in his collection....Not because someone posted the link on this sight. Basically your stance is that this forum is Worse for collectors rather than good. Im astounded that you thnk that if it was not posted on this forum that it would have gone for less. I guess I will quit rambling because I think your argument is just plain silly.

Alright you anonymous chicken sht....you call me the special ed kid and claim that I have more money than sense or that I have 2 pairs in my collection...As with everything you have said you are of course wrong and again sound like a blubbering fcking idiot. I do have a very small collection (14) but with each item I have I spend hundreds of hours, literally, researching each item before I buy each pair. YES! before I buy or consider buying a pair I will come to this forum to ask questions, opinions, or advice. I've been into this for under a year and it only makes sense that if I'm going to learn what I need to learn.....A REALLY GOOD TOOL TO EDUCATING MYSELF IS TO ASK THE MOST EXPERIENCED COLLECTORS!!! I spend about 5 hours a week on this sight and about 40 searching other websights and manuals trying to learn as much as I can. If you want to claim you know more than I...then DUH I would certainly hope so considering...but if on the items I do have in my collection I will go heads up with you any day about there history, value, patents, locking mechanism, or anything else you wish. So keep talking trash and keep sounding like a jealous fool and complaining how you can't afford items because they go for more than your welfare check is.....because I personally don't give a flying sht what you have to say. I'm not going anywhere son and this special ed kid will be here for 20 years continuing to ask more question, adding to my collection, and hopefully still pissing you off by posting links and stealing those prize possesions that you can't seem to get your hands on.
