I am getting very tired of some of the outrageous posts that have appeared lately.
A couple IP addresses of people who have been truly over the top have been blocked.
I have also deleted a couple of threads that seems to have become rants.

If you are going to post here then please give your name and email address. I am also not impressed with people who post several times in a row on the same thread using a different alias each time.

Yes joseph you are right.I think if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything.I have been reading the posts the last few days and i have to say this is all over ebay listings..My 2 cents are this if you see something on ebay even if your not bidding you should keep it to your self..some people might not see it and if your tying to win it and its an item someone misses you have a better chance of getting it.Handcuff collecting is like looking for hidden treasure why give everyone the map when you know where it is.If you do win a neat item by all means share it with us.Just my 2 cents..lol

Joe - you and I corresponded briefly a couple of years ago on this very subject and I suggested that you might restrict the ability to post in these forums to registered members only. At that time you had good reasons not to do so - is it time to reconsider?

And while I'm at it! ..... something that I find tiresome are posts saying "I've put (whatever) on ebay" and giving a link to the selling site. Handcuffs.Org is an excellent forum for genuine collectors and it annoys me to see it being used by individuals who just want to sell their bits and pieces to the highest bidder - there are such things as trades and swaps, for which this forum would be ideal.

Why not make it so that only logged on members with email addresses can respond?
There are so many Pauls and Joes and Marks and Anon, it would be good to know who you are dealing with.

The problem I had with using my email address when posting is the spam I was getting.

no email address in the post here = no spam.

Heh Paul (Davies) - you talk about Pauls, Joes and Marks, don't forget the thousands of Mikes around!! For a long time it was a problem for me and then one of my buddies on the other side of the Atlantic came up with a nickname that kind of stuck. And to Paul Reardon - I've not used a mugshot but currently show me wearing 6 pairs of my Chubb Escorts - just to demonstrate my commitment to cuff collecting! (not that it was ever in doubt!)

Delighted to hear that GB68 shares my views on the ebay thing!

And before I sign off - to atlanta*casting ..... if I thought I could get rid of spam by not including my address here, I'd leave it out. As it is I have a pretty good spam checker that filters out most of the rubbish and I'm certainly not aware of any spam that might have originated through posting my details here.
