Marlin Leg Iron

"Hi guys, I just came across this photo( attached) sent to me many years ago by Joe tanner ( circa1985) and though you might be interested in seeing it or saving it. It show three marlin cuffs in a display case, one handcuff and two leg irons. I was told that they are in a museum on the grounds of an old school some where in California.

Well we know who has one. Great picture! I wonder how many there are and if I was still in California I would be checking out all the schools.

Hmmm, all fat lockcase versions. I suspect leg irons were probably never made on the reissues, but let's all watch and check everytime we see one.

I have one like that, the handcuff that is, with the BIG LINKS.That one and
mine are the only ones I have seen with the same style linkage.Two round links with a potato chip link in the middle. The cuff in the picture is missing a round link and the cut is covered with tape. Also the bows are sawed off quite a bit. See how short they are and no notches are seen.
As if anyone is looking at the handcuff.

In all the years I have had this photo, only now that Gordon points out the problems with the handcuff, have I looked at it. Never noticed it before now.
