A bit besides the subject but as the book was mentioned by Damon I don't feel guilty bringing this up here: is there anyone besides me who would like Alex to publish a volume 3 of his series of books?

At the last European convention he told me he didn't feel like going through all the trouble of putting together another volume but maybe if a couple of us would give him a hand, we could convince him to publish a new one (Alex, I hope you're reading this as my mails to you bounce back).

Hello Mark,

thank you for showing a third piece of this model. Very interesting: one in Birmingham, one in France and mine is said to have been used by the Bavarian police. The Birmingham and the French piece both have a thick centre rivet and quite deep dents in the handle. Mine has a small rivet and less deep dents. And mine has the middle grab handle on the other side. The overall shape is also a little bit different (e.g. have a look and the end pieces of the handle). The French nipper seems to miss the small loop but mine as well as the Birmingham one in Alex' book (BTW: I also would like to see volume III) have this loop and in the book you can see a ring going through and linking it to a swivel with a karabiner on the other end.

(*) in case that anyone should wonder what the middle grab handle on one side is good for. It's for opening the nipper by only using one hand.
