From your front porch looking in............

Over a year ago I started visiting this forum. Before I ever posted,(this is only my third),a single post, I went through the ENTIRE site and read EVERY post made before. EVERY single one. While one is entitled to ones opinion on ANY subject matter, to reduce ones self to curseing and name calling has really gotten out of hand. I know I am not needed, wanted, nor probably welcome here, but the next time a "newbie" drops by, let them see this forum for what it was meant to be.....collecting handcuffs,not collecting enemies.

AH MEN TO THAT !!! i take it that you are a NEWBIE & that is fine & great as the restraint collecting NEEDS new blood....i hope that i am not speaking to soon, but it sounds like as you said -- you have read ALL the posts & this is your 1st post which is polite & to the point.... you have NOT attempted to belittle any of US for our little tirades etc... welcome ... joe

After a hard day collecting junk its nice to get a laugh once in a while.


Joe Tanner might be have called me a scumbag a few times, but thats ok.
I laughed it off,insulted him back and we still do business together. (even though he dont know it) lol.


The point is... The handcuffs.org forum is great!
Alot of handcuff history was discovered by arguing and trying to prove people wrong.
Everyone trying to out do the next guy. That is what makes this place what it is and my handcuff collecting improved tremendously. (sometimes we learn what not to do) lol.

i think its safe to speak for everyone here because.. We dont take offense to anything (even the most rude comments) because all we truly care about is handcuffs anyways. =)
Its an obsession for most of us. We agrue over handcuffs. We fight over handcuffs.
This is what handcuff collecting should be. Passion!

Yes, there's a few grumpy old men who love to taunt each other. That's their problem. Just ignore it. I've only been collecting for about a year and a half and I've learned more here than from most other sources - and we are all still learning. I never thought I'd involve myself with the Forum for the reasons you state, but I like to ask questions and I've found ways to add to the discussion. Unfortunately there are even more out there with just as much knowledge who have also been turned off from contributing.

There is nothing wrong with standing on the front porch looking in - watching others thrown out through the windows or Saloon door, but there's also room for those who want partake of a cool drink, a gentle game of cards or sit quietly in the corner. In other words, you can choose who you respond to and how you respond, if at all.

Again, thank you to our host, Joe Lauher, who puts up with a lot. Many would feel lost without this Forum.

Paul is right, there are some grumpy people, people with chemical imbalances, etc. On good days, they do have worthwhile information to share. On bad days, well you have seen what happens sad to say. You also have people here for there own personal selfish reasons who see opportunities to make large sums of money. Very few of them contribute in a positive way and what drives them is the money carrot. Take heed! Caveat Emptor!
