Unknown marking on Hamburg 8

Hi!

I just acquired this Hamburg 8 cuff. Both cuff and key is marked "DRGM".
The keys I have seen look different to this one with only one small hole and a stamping with the Kayser logo, an anchor.
Anybody who knows what it stands for? Was it another manufacturer beside Kayser?

Hello Lars,

DRGM is the abbreviation for "Deutsches Reichs GebrauchsMuster" which means something like "German Reich Trademark".

I have a key for the fluted hamburg eight with anchor design. I will have to check but I think the paper work I have is from the Clemen & Jung Co with the same anchor logo mark.

I have no idea what the markings mean, I just wanted to tell you that you have a beautiful pair of cuffs there if they are original.

Hi Rick,

Thanks! I'm pretty sure they are original, manufactured by the German company Kayser. Their real name is Kayser nr. 5 but they are commonly called Hamburg 8. I also have a similar pair with a rectangular keyhole pattern. However. I'm insecure when the models where manufactured. Some collectors says 1930's and other says 1960's. Anybody who knows for sure?
