Jean Roy bought the Hiatt 2010c from me at 12am.
By 3am I had between 10 and 15 emails demanding her money back. yes.... Not even 3 hours later!
They were all sent one right after another in a 5 minute span.
She said she was "compulsive" and sorry she wants her money back.

ok fine... Im thinking complusive? Who admits to something like that even if it is true? 10 emails at 3am every 60 seconds? DAMN! at 3am? A normal person doesnt change their mind and if they do.. they write one email and wait for a response.
NOT JEAN ROY!

I contacted ebay because after 700 flawless transactions and many and I mean many repeat customers I never had this happen to me. Unfortunately I was forced to refund and then relist the Hiatt 2010c. I lost listing fees. Ok no big deal... If thats how business is done with jean Roy....

I relisted the Hiatt 2010c and then listed the S&W high security hinged handcuffs model 104H. (hinged)
She went ahead and opened another account under name blade 1c4.
Then she went ahead and bought the Hiatt 2010c AGAIN and then the s&w 104h.
She paid and I was rather skeptical but needed the damn money fast and couldnt afford to lose out on even more ebay fees and have my listings all messed up... So I shipped as fast as possible and proved I shipped it with a tracking #. LIKE I ALWAYS DO!

Q. How long does it take to ship from United States to Canada??

A. Not even 3 days later Jean Roy tried demanded the money back AGAIN.

Anyone who has done business with me knows I am one of the most honest and courteous sellers on ebay. I kindly wrote a polite email stating that I really couldnt refund because the handcuffs were already on their way and that I cant keep losing out on listing fees because buyer keeps changes mind all the time. Jean Roys response.. "F* YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TOTALLY IGNORANT! "COMPULSIVE" IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! REPULSIVE IS MORE LIKE IT!

You guys can take your chances...
I know I would NEVER do business with JEAN ROY again and have to say that anyone doing business with Jean Roy is taking a HUGE RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!! This person clearly has issues and is the worst and most ignorant person I have ever dealt with in all my years of handcuff collecting. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jean Roy opened a case against me but it was wayyyyyyyyy too early to do so.

The case was pending according to ebay and would have been active in a matter of a few days.
In mean time... Jean Roy left me 2 negative feedbacks which absolutely ruined my feedback score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really did NOT deserve it and think no one on ebay deserves to deal with people like that.

Im sure you guys would be furious too!!!!!!!!!!!!!


"Luckily" I documented everything with ebay from the start and ebay removed the negative feedbacks.
if i didnt do that? My feedback score and reputation would have been ruined by a compulsive and very rude person who was clearly in the wrong. This post proves he received the items I sent him and he had no reason to do what he did.


Anyways...
My posts are to warn fellow collectors to proceed with caution.
I wouldnt trust this person with a $2 listing fee let alone send $175 or $90.

This is a perfect example of why you should use the eBay system for all communications with a buyer or seller. eBay does read all correspondence in order to make a determination on who is in the wrong. If the buyer or seller changes eBay accounts and use a different eBay email or another account outside the eBay system, don't do it. Many sellers have several accounts and may try to make this switch. This happened to me from a seller in Indonesia and Canada. So if you want to protect yourself use the eBay system.

The only thing that saved me was that i called ebay and made them document everything BEFORE it happened.


I told them blade1ca was blocked.
I told them blade1c4 was same person with new account.
I asked them for advice on what to do.
I used common sense and DID NOT lie on customs forms like Jean Roy requested.
I made sure i sent using PAYPAL shipping which proves I sent the items!


Also... jean Roy asked i declare value at $45.00
I will never lie on customs forms. Not only is it illegal...


I WOULD "NOT" HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER EBAY SELLERS PROTECTION PLAN. If I had shipped any other way other then using paypal shipping I would have been screwed out of $290. My paypal account would have been frozen due to insufficient funds and i would have been extremely angry at jean Roy.
It almost happened to me! The computer sees a case is opened by buyer and often makes judgements based on wht it sees as fact. YOU MUST TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS IF YOU SUSPECT ANYTHING!
It is very important to call ebay when stuff seems fishy or odd. DOCUMENT IT! If I didnt? Things might have had a different outcome. Ebay gave me solid advice and knew I was dong my best to be a good seller and do honest business. jean Roy was clearly in the wrong. honestly... I was thinking he would say he never got the item to try and get his money back. Luckily for him he didnt. He would have been charged with mail fraud according to ebay.
You know...
Its bad enough I had to go through the drama... bad enough I had to relist... Bad enough to be told F-You after being kind and giving a second chance.

Jean Roy tried ruining my reputation and tried hurting my sales which is so uncool I cant even explain how I feel about it.




This is much better then leaving ebay feedback that no one reads.

My condolences to all who have been "screwed" by a a--hole fellow Canadian. If we stand back a bit, and have a closer look, the problem is E-Bay! They allow buyers and sellers to operate multiple accounts without sufficient checks to ensure that your identity and account info is valid. I had a problem with a problem buyer (American) a few years ago. I blocked his account, only to find out that E-bay had "closed his account due to bad conduct etc.". They then let him open a New Account under a different user name. He tried to enter a False Claim against me. BUT he decided to get lost after I told him I would take the time to go to the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, see the Resident FBI. or US Postal Inspector and ask them to open a Mail (Wire) Fraud Investigation, against him, and E-Bay for facilitating the Offence. Something to remember..Pay-Pal is a Licenced Financial Institution, your E-Bay sales usually go by USPS. Both are regulated by American Federal Laws. Question ??? Why does a Canadian know more about this than most Americans ??
