Dear Ian,

Recent posts have me thinking of the rock group The Who's songs.

1966's "Boris the Spider" is one.

Another song is 1967's "Pictures of Lily".

Incidentally, there is, or was, a rap or hip-hop (neither of which have any credible connection to rock music) group named Whodini.

Less trivially, but more unrelated to handcuffs, in 1969 The Kinks recorded their song "Australia".

Now, Mark, this is the way to degrade the Forum!

I can't believe you forgot the song "Cobwebs and Strange", written by Keith Moon.
The song appears just after "Boris the Spider" on the 1967 Who album "A Quick One".

Dear Mark,

I didn't forget "Cobwebs and Strange"; I just didn't mention it. I saw no cobwebs near Ian's apprentice, Boris.

I did see, and have seen many times, the -- what is an early yet true -- music video The Who did for "Cobwebs and Strange". It's a classic. Yesterday I finally took the plunge and ordered DSL. When the modem arrives and if I don't botch the self-installation, I'll be off dialup and able to watch videos and other real cool, groovy and fab stuff online.

A Quick One was the British LP. It had "Heatwave" but not "Happy Jack". (What an incredible song, especially the title.) In the US, the LP was Happy Jack, which featured the title song and omitted "Heatwave".

Good grief! How on Earth did the URL thehandcuffs.com get missed by some Forum Fanatic. That is escalated escapology. Terrific trick there.

I have often thought that a real challenge for our escape artist friends would be for them to risk contact or even proximity with their personal phobia critters. I won't list them here since these are serious and debilitating phobias, but it would ratchet up the risk they are willing to take for their escape.
