Approach with caution

A few days ago, I read a posting here from a handcuff company in Pakistan that had some good looking repo's of some old Darby style cuffs.

I talked to Ian McColl about it and he suggested that I ask for a sample, Which I did. I told the fellow that if I did not like the cuff I would send it back to him, which I would have as I am a man of my word. If I did like it, I would order probably all he has at the prices I saw.

Well...get this...

First, he wanted me to send him American cash, not a money order, "cash"... $50 American dollars for postage. It only costs $15.00 US to get 2 cuffs from Aussie, so whats the deal with $50.00 ?

So I explained to him that sending cash was not a smart idea as it was untraceable, especially in a 3rd. world country. So this guys writes back and calls me a begger for wanting a sample, here is a cut and paste of that...

Dear Richard Silmser.
We are proud to living in Third world country.
But you should shame for living in 1St World country.
And begging for free samples. Shame for 1 St World.Country MAN.

That was not a cool thing to do, I asked for the sample on Ian's advice, to check out how above board this person is and also to see the craftsmanship of his items.

I suggest you approach this company with extreame caution.

Well, the fellow from Pakistan must have seen this posting, he sent me a letter of apologie and knocked the price of his postage down to 35 bucks.

That was very cool of him to do that. I'll get back to you on the service I get and the quality of the cuffs.

Back in late July and August I had emailed this person several times and all his email bounced. The pictures he shows seem to be the same exact stuff KUB is selling.
