Bought a new cuff!

Well, i bought a takeda style cuff its very heavy and the only markings are "japan" right by the chain on each cuff, the swivel does not move like it is welded in place and the back has five strong rivets instead of 4.. the cuff arm has holes instead of slits and its a wheel ratchet style cuff

is this a JGA cuff?

I have 2 models of that same cuff. Both of mine the swivel doesn't move and if you try to break it free, it will do just that - break. It's like the shaft of the swivel and the hole it's mounted in aren't exactly round.

Both of mine have a very smooth action and are quite a nice example of that cuff. I do have one that's even heavier that I bought from a board member.

Don't know about the designation you give if that's accurate or not.

I can tell you Micheal that it's not quite as heavy as the pair I got from you. I have 2 mint pairs like he's talking about, and neither of mine have moving swivels. They're not welded in place per say, more like the holes don't fit properly.

Other than that, they are heavier than the "standard" Japanese models or the taiwan models, included the old 70s versions.
