Heres what appears to be a typical older style Spanish cuff.BUT with a Takeda-style external double-lock lever.

This was in a military goods catalog from the 1970s.

Does anyone know if such handcuff actually existed?.or was this simply a generic artists rendering of a handcuff?

Did any of the Spanish cuffs feature an external double-lock lever?

I have never seen one. Very interesting! I know that this type of cuff does not have a push pin double lock so this might have been their way of adding it. My Astra cuff (that looks like this one) has no double lock at all but it has a roller gear to prevent shimming. I always thought that it was strange to have such heightened security on a cuff that doesn't have a double lock. Thanks for posting this Joe; I am going to keep my eye out for one of these!!!

I just noticed that there are no ratchet teeth on the cuffs in the picture.....they must have been star-wheel geared! Nice! My Astra cuffs are ratchet cuffs as are all of the ones I have seen of this body style. Pretty cool!
