Hello,

I own a pair of these, too. Think I bought them on our well known market place a few years ago.
They are fully functional, the clear side is ment to be a "Display sample" (as written on to it), even You won't see anything more than the metal.

These are not readily accessible. Tim sent me pictures before he posted them. That is why i saw them earlier today. I was joking with him. But seriously, I've never seen a clear cuff attached to another cuff. I thought you could only get the clear cuff by itself.

Yeah Justin, I figured I use this a chance to practice using my cammera and posting pics.

I think the year on the back of the package says 2004 so they're long past. I picked these up at a local gun show.

I am not sure exactly how rare these are but most display cuffs are 1 sided.
Discount Handcuffs , to my knowledge, never had the double pair for sale but may still carry the single version.
A double sided working clear/black, model is much rarer.
The fully functional 2 cuff display models did come in a hinged and a chain variation.

I did see the single clear cuff on the warehouse and it was over $50.00. I was thrilled to find this at my local gun show.

It has the newer yellow double locks. Anyone know when that recall was. 2008?

THAT, has always puzzled me as well. Plus they say Pats pending on the bow. How long did that continue?

Maybe this display cuff had the yellow double locks before all that happened?

I'm glad someone else noticed that cause I've never figured it out.

Every ASP cuff i have says patent pending. I'm not sure that they ever even changed their etching. I'd they are all patented now.

Hi Tim,

These examples (complete cuff - one side clear polycarbonate housing) were the first salesman's samples distributed, followed by the clear 1/2 cuff version which are more readily available. The idea behind both versions of the samples was not to demonstrate the cuffs' mechanicals, but rather to showcase the stamped, inner sheetmetal "frames". The ASP frame construction can best be thought of as like a unibody built vehicle versus a full frame on body construction (IE: easier, cheaper to produce also with plastic components replacing metal). Also the single sample version is etched "Tactical Handcuff Cutaway" which is an improper term, solely due to the fact that nothing has been "cut away". I feel ASP cuffs are more so a curiosity instead of a wise law-enforcement tool. I need not explain here - however anyone expierenced in the art of handcuff manipulation would be delighted to be placed in a pair of ASP's

This is the first ASP handcuff packaged in 2004 It has the red double lock bar and a round key not the hex style
