bought this replica on ebay about a year ago. Never learned how to escape it, but would love to try.
Dont know if the picture is really clear, but its got t he screw in key, etc.
Any advice?

As a matter of fact I do, use it for display purposes only.... These are cheap knock offs of the real thing and the lock mechanism is not what I consider reliable enough to actually use. I have a standard adjustable darby of this manufacturer and it is what I use to lecture about what not to buy and that many people represent them as antiques.
Now if you are dead serious about using these, the standard principles on the regular darby's apply to these, just a little hard since the hands don't have the freedom.

Have you checked out Handcuff Warehouse? I just checked there site and saw that they have Irish 8's in stock for a reasonable price.
