Not that I know of.
I only know of one where a split link was used to add a ball and chain to a single leg cuff. (spelt - Elijah Rickard)

This looks like one half of a ER leg iron that has been fitted to a ball and chain. The stamping does not look correct more like an RR or RK. It is hard to tell from the pictures but it does look like an ER leg iron. The links of the chain look hand forged. Too bad there is no key.

The stamp looks like ER to me, but the ball and chain is attacked with a cold-shut repair link.

someone needs glasses as it is R K or was R R and the top round of the second R was not stamped well or it wore away

Shackle looks authentic as the spring is right (looking in keyhole). Seems to be attached to ball via split link. I wouldn't think they should be together.
