S&W 925

Not 100% sure if these are 925 or 926. Early style (centered detents) aluminum. A lot of pitting, but to the eye doesn't look as bad as what the camera shows It sort of looks like nickel plating, yet the bow pin is still visible. Does not have the grayish appearance of regular 926, so I'm leaning towards 925. I don't go by position of logos or trademarks anymore, as I have a pair of 926 with logos and trademarks just like this one. (Most 926 I've seen have the stampings on the bow)
Thoughts?

Yeah I tend to agree, the color alone suggests nickel plating. Too bad they are so pitted. But they are both the only 925 that I have then, and the only 'early' aluminum cuffs I have. For comparisons sake, here are the two versions of 926, and Peerless aluminum.

But isn't the visibility of the bow pin the clincher for the 926?

I went through about 8 pairs of 90's, two of them you could see the pin. I think 926 all have that "aluminum color" to them. LOL reading back though this forum, I think this topic has been visited and re-visited a few times over the years. Oh well, always fun to re-visit once again...
