Hiatt Model Question

Good morning from Germany,

above, I have to compare one Hiatt 104 on the second picture, she is left.

But what is the other one for?

I also have the same by Dowler.

Hiatt still looking on the stand for a few numbers, and WRC, and the other thing is on a Hiatt.
It is also thinner than the 104 Hiatt

The various Hiatt Model numbers can be found in old advertisements.

101 Light weight Superintendent Model
102 Heavy weight Backstrap Model
103 Irish 8
104 Standard Darby
105 Plug 8
115 Patent Adjustable Darby

The two cuffs shown in Jens's pictures are a standard 104 and a light weight Superintendent 101.

Other companies copied all of these styles. I don't know if they used the same model numbers.

There is a big age difference between the 2. One has cast parts and the other more hand made. WRC is West Riding Constabulary (Yorkshire) and can appear on any brand of handcuff.

Thank you both for the very constructive responses. Now I know more again.
I think I will soon once my Darbys and Irish 8 here to find out something about the age.
Regarding the key from the cuffs and what time they come.

I mean by the items from Hiatt and Dowler. On J.G. and RCS it stands on it.
