Romer handcuffs and leg irons

Hi everyone,
I'm curious as to how many variants or different sizes of Romer restraints are out there. I believe I've discovered a new one
many of us may not have known about. There is the large handcuff and small handcuff. The lock bodies on these are the same size,
but the bows are different, with one being more oblong than the other smaller mor-rounded one. There is a large leg iron, with the body
being much larger than the small-sized leg iron. Also, two solid brass large-sized Romer leg irons are known to exist. Then, the small sized leg irons:
I know of two variants of this leg iron. The normal Small leg iron with the normal leg-chain. This has an oblong bow. I've seen two of this sized restraint though with only one link between the cuffs, and a shorter more rounded bow. Both these small-bodied type leg irons have only one link between the cuffs, as though they made the leg irons as a small leg iron (long chain, oblong bow), or as a super large handcuff (same size lock body but shorter more rounded bow.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has the regular small leg iron, but with the shorter more rounded bow??? And, does anyone else have the one link version. Below is a photograph of the small Romer leg iron, and the Small leg iron body as a Larger handcuff with shorter bow. I'm wondering how many of these are out there. With all the nice information of late on modern cuffs, I wanted to start something on a restraint a little older. Anyone, please feel free to post your photos of your Romer handcuffs or leg Irons. There are also Romer padlocks, in at least three different styles I know of.
I'd love to see those as well.

My Romer leg irons are more rounded. The length on the inside measurement is about 3 5/8" and across where the bow goes into the body about 3 1/2". The area where the bow goes into the body is not a pronounced as the one you have posted. It does have 18 links in the chain.

Not too sure whether the set I have are the large or small size, they measure (intrenally) 3" across and 3.25" from top to bottom. They have 18 links in the chain and have about 20% of their original nickel plating left on them. Let me know if you want any further info. I think the handcuffs are rarer than the LI?? Do you have any idea of the numbers that still exist?

HI Chris. Thanks for info to Ron as well. Ron, I'd love to see a photo of your Romers. It sounds like they are the large leg irons.
As I stated, there is one size few if any of us realized is out there. If the small leg iron exists with the long chain (18 links) and it
has the small, rounder bow, there is even another Romer I didn't know about. The Small leg iron with one link, round bow; I know of only two that exist; one in a private collection, and one in a "lost" collection I'm searching for. I have photos of it. As for regular Romers I have no knowledge of numbers, but it will be another project as soon as I finish my Wisner Hoyt project, and then the Woods Chain cuff project. I did manage to purchase the prototype Woods cuff the James Wood made as a model for his handcuff from a family member. They also still have a Wood leg iron, brass and Aluminum handcuffs, and some misc. parts for the cuffs. Unfortunately no extra chain is in the box. They are trying to get me photos of the inventor.

Chris, numbers on Romers are not known, but I agree that the handcuffs are much scarcer than the leg irons. Once a common cuff these seem to disappeared over the last couple of decades. They seldom turn up, and when they do it's usually the leg irons that surface.
