Help in valueing possible military Darby Cuffs

Would appreciate any advice regarding pair of handcuffs recently aquired from local auction,confirmed as original.
From your site I feel they are of Darby style..both cuffs with keys.
On the end barrel of one cuff is stamped: RCS 1954 and then the UK.Ministry of Defence government arrow.
On the opposite cuff barrel are stamped numbers which appear to be 1C with a line under below which is the number 247...and then below that a single number 3.
Do the Initials or numbers have any significance ,do the cuffs have any value...a photo could be provided...?
Do they have any value?
Is ebay the best place for them?

Your cuffs were made by Ruben Craddock & Son in 1954. They are relatively common, but still nice to have. Value is always in the eye of the beholder, but I would say $50 or $60 with the key.

I agree with Joe on his identification and value. The handcuffs were made in 3 sizes, with size 3 being the most popular(this is the number stamped on your cuffs). Size 1 is relatively small and I would guess used on 10% of criminals bought to justice. RCS also produced a very heavy 'Strap Hinge'pattern again in 3 sizes which seem to have ceased in about 1945.
The company continued to produce handcuffs until about 1961 and their swinging bow pattern is the rarest which did not sell well due to its price of 42/- (£2.10) compared to the swinging bow Hiatt pattern costing under a pound.
