Are smith and wesson cuffs that are marked pats pending are they worth more than,the normal type?
The model 104 is the set im questioning. I no their sold new for 45 but I see the m-100 are selling for $40 more then new price.
Pat's pending models can be hard to come by, and to a collector (at least to me
) they are worth more than a new one. It all depends on what the cuff is. Pat's pending 100's are pretty common. I don't see them being worth much more, if any, than a newer model 100. However, a 103 or 104 is alot more rare than the more common pats pending 100. There are also variations that may make one cuff more valuable than others.
For example, I have a 103 pats pending with the slot double lock on one side of the cuff only. That is more rare and valuable than a 103 pats pending springfield stamped cuff. I also have a 103 pats pending that is stamped houlton. That's also more rare than a springfield stamped pats pending.
The only 104 pats pending I have are double lock both sides with a springfield stamping. If I came across a slot lock 104 on the front side only, I would probably consider myself lucky to get it for 45 dollars which is the price they sell new. Same thing with a houlton pats pending 104.
It's all about the details. I also know the seller of that 104 pats pending. I have bought numerous numerous items from him, and everything I ever bought from him has been fantastic. Knowing who you are dealing with and that they are an honest seller goes a long way too.
