Unusual "Deutsche Polizei"

Dear fellow collectors,

I purchased a slightly unusual "Deutsche Polizei" version (the middle one) from the Adrian-collection. This version lacks the usual markings like "Deutsche Polizei", "Schutzmarke", "D.R.Pat", "August Schwarz", "Berlin SW 11" and "auf/zu". There are also no signs that these markings were removed. Instead it is only marked "EB33" on one lock-case and "1" on the backside and on both bows. Moreover the shape is very slightly different to my other Schwarz "Deutsche Polizei" handcuffs from the WWII period. Please especially notice the thinner bows (where the teeth are).

Has anybody seen such a version before?

I have an identical cuff, except there are no markings on the body. Both bows have the number 1 just like Guenters. The other difference between this one and a standard one is the shape of the keyhole.

Stan, did you get your "Deutsche Polizei" from an US dealer? AFAIR Adrian purchased his (now mine) via eBay.com from America. Maybe this was a special version for export?

I have a pair of these as well, which I bought at a surplus house in the early 1990s.
I always assumed that, because there were no markings, they were a later model of the cuff possibly made by a different manufacturer. I paid about $10 U.S. for them.
