There is no "best handcuff in the world having all qualities"!

The quality of a handcuff depends on the operator's demand. The advantage of the first model equates to the disadvantage of the second one. For example, a hinged model is both solid and bulky; a pin tumbler model like Clejuso 101/102 is quite secure but on the other hand it is quite large and heavy (and expensive), and so on!

Mr. Wilson ONLY lets me lock his wrists together with cuffs bought at the dollar store. The type of cuffs that the package says are "Police Style" and has "safety button". These type of cuffs are the best type in my opinion and should be made in mass quantities and imported to the US... Oh wait!

"Best" is such a vague word. If its a beauty contest, I would vote for the bottlenecks. If its about security, then maybe Chubb Escort. If its about lowest cost (via ease of manufacture, material costs) then Wood Chain cuffs. If its about ease of use during a hostile arrest, then many of the rigid swing-through models would be the most practical. If you only need compatibility across different departments then anything using a standard key or even zip ties would fit.

Of course no cuff can satisfy all these points, but I think the Santini "Peerless Pivot" model comes about the closest. The Peerless cuff it uses as a base is on a lot of people's top-5 lists, usually because of its classic, clean look. And for security, these seem pretty damn secure to me. The base Peerless security is of course mediocre, but the keyhole blocking, chain/swivel replacement, and ability to add a padlock which prevents unlocking the double lock fixes pretty much all the shortcomings of the Peerless design (pick resistance, anti-shim, brute force). It even goes one step further in that you would really have your work cut out for you if you had access to a hacksaw blade and intended to saw through the connection. Good luck with that. As for lowest costs, the added materials for the modification amounts to a pivot and two pieces of sheet steel. That would be simple and cheap both as a mod and as a design change. It also has the benefit of being visually simple; you can see at a glance exactly what it is doing, so there are no oddball moving parts, springs, or other points of failure hidden away in the lock case that are difficult to inspect (apart from the existing contents of the cuff). I also really like how the cost effectiveness and security can be enhanced by using a padlock. If you think about it, its seems it would be so much cheaper to "outsource" the lock duties to a padlock rather than needing to include it inside the cuff. You have more options, you can easily choose padlocks that are keyed alike or different. Its easy to maintain/replace/upgrade the lock at any time. Lastly, I think it fits "hostile arrest" requirement (failing that, the design is doomed to be a rare item hanging on one of our walls). Since the padlock is an additional optional step to be used after the cuffs are locked and double locked, the padlock would in no way interfere with applying the cuffs.

Thanks to all for your reply to my questions. I do not like to copy some thing. I want to create my own designed handcuffs. I want to manufacture the handcuff which can be opened with only a standard key not with any other keys and not pickable, light weight and not so complicated, looking charming and durable.The handcuff having most qualities is my desire. I wish to make a handcuff coated with rubber type material so that it may not harm the wrist.And also double locking very strong and simple. Lo and behold the given snaps.
I search all the day long handcuffs of various types. I am very much fond of making and comparing the handcuffs. Only I wanted to have some suggestions from my friends.Following handcuffs are my favorite:
Bonowi
Lips INT
Hagge-SPE
Smith & Wesson
Tuff
asp
Gotcha
Yuil etc.
I once again thank to all of you to be so mindful for me. If you have Hagge and other types of handcuffs new models of handcuffs then send me the snaps.

What is a "standard key"? The only standard key of sorts is the one used in the US. And that's only due to ignorance of our policy makers. If so... there is virtually nothing that can be done to make it pick proof, as you are limited in how far the key's "flag" extends into the cuff's body.

I can't send you any snaps, as I am too young to drink, maybe Mr. Wilson could help you, he drinks peppermint snaps.

I have looked on the facebook foto albums and found 69 (!) fotos copied from my homepage:http://www.andys-handschellensammlung.de
There is no link to my page and no hint that these fotos are not your but copied from others. Someone has told me, that there are also fotos from Lars Holst...

Most fotos from me are from my restaurations or making of cutoffs (Chubb Detainer, Bonowi Trilock) or from my self made high security cuffs with Abloy cylinders (HS104/105/205 etc.). It may be possible to copy them, but every collector will recognize the original...

All fotos from me are copyrighted (correct german word is "Urheberecht") and i have not allowed to copy them. Especially if there is commercial use or/and not naming author and giving a link to the source.

I did not copy any handcuff ever. I only shared your handcuff picture from some links which I liked. If you mind it then in future I'll never share your handcuff snaps or anything relavent to your manufacturing. Anyhow I am very sorry for hurting your feelings. It seems that you are very genius because your work shows itself.If you want to get your snaps deleted then I'll do it after having your reply. However I have pasted your name at your snaps. Please help me further in my last question. It will be a great fovor of you.

Hello,
please remove the pics from facebook. I have no problem if there are only links to the pictures to click on. Everyone can make copies for his private use. But using copies of pictures is for non commercial use only (after asking me) and definitely not for facebook and other social networks, also not for use in television, newspapers etc. including websites (it is also commercial) without asking me.

Abdul, All cumsa, Allah Akbar!!!!

The project you are working on it is challenging. Couple of free advise.

The rubbery blade can be achieved, but will not serve the purpose for the following reason: The rubber you will need to vulcanize to the metal and for rubberizing, the rubber is usually 62 Shore, which is hard enough to prevent the flow of the blood. To achieve the comfort zone the rubber would need to be between 35 to 40 shore, which is comfortable, but this will wear of fast and the handcuffs lived their live probably 6 month.

The best you can do is smother the edges by applying radius-es on the blade. You can do it by hand and than polish it, this is costly, but in Pakistan labor is cheep....

The way we did it once the blade was formed and grind-ed, than we hit it in a die with a 90 Ton press to form the edges.

Hope it was a help to your project.... Good sweating which you will have guaranteed.

"Urheberrecht" is a personally right and cannot be sold, you can sell the right for marketing and copying to others, but the "Urheberrecht" remains to you. Self made fotos are part of Urheberrecht, until now i have not sold copyrights for them...

I think, it is better i do not translate the answer of Mr Goncz, it is a big offense and also in wrong german...
