Hi Bud, unless you can pass the open lock and the chain through the long bent link to lock these Puzzle locks then these parts may not belong to each other. They are quite common. $50 to $100 with key in working condition. Some here will call them horse hobbles.

Thanks Paul. The chain does pass through with a little work. It doesn't leave much to get your hand through though. Horse hobbles? Used for animals I would imagine. They don't seem to be that large for an animal. How old do they appear? When I first saw them I too thought they were a mix of parts until closer study. All the links are forged without any way to take them apart or rejoin them. Thanks again, Bud
