#1I recently read a book entitled Sleights of Mind, which I thought some people here might find interesting. It's about how certain physiological aspects of the brain allow us, in fact compel us, to enjoy the sensation of an "illusion". Here is the web page of the authors;

I don't necessarily recommend this book. It is pretty dry and highly scientific. And I don't know that it would improve any magician's performance, because the successful magician already knows, instinctively, everything which the authors put into medical terminology. If nothing else, it was fun to read the normally silent Teller (of Penn & Teller) express himself.
