I'm looking for some handcuffs that I could use in a play that I'll be directing called "Deathtrap." However, the actor needs to be able to break out of the seemingly tight handcuffs in less than a second. (They're supposed to look fairly old as well, as they were supposed to have been Houdini's at one time) Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might find somthing of this nature? Hi, the cuff I would recommend is called the Lightspeed. Designed for and sold to many theatrical companies for just this purpose.
It a modified Smith and Wesson handcuff which can be really tightened if desired but escape is sure fire and easy for the actor. No keys required but does come and work with keys.
