I will have some details about this challenge later along with some photos. I will say that Vince made one hell of a handcuff!!! The irresistible force met the immovable object and I opened the cuff in front of several witnesses in about 20 minutes or so after a lot of hard work and sweating.

I am grateful to Vince for his efforts in designing and producing this incredible cuff and providing me the opportunity to test and show off my skills in front of many of my respected peers. Vince came though for us at last minute because he suspected, as most of us did, that john goncz would not not show up to answer the acceptance of his handcuff challenge. john goncz did not show up and Mark Lyons did not show up either......he was suppose to bring the goncz cuffs for the challenge if john himself could not be there.

Anyway, it was a great time, we had a challenge with no entry fees, special stipulations, silly rules, or large amounts of money being put into escrow accounts til the end. It was plain ol' man vs. metal, one on one, on a level playing field, for bragging rights.........how it should be. More later.

Michael did a fantastic job on picking this very well built handcuff as well as opening a vintage combination lock for me.

Vince has made some really interesting handcuffs and this one was very cool. Even with a key there is a process to getting the cuff open.

It was interesting to watch Michael modify and then make tools on the spot to complete the challenge.

Vince has been advised with some suggestions which could make his design even more secure, I wonder if his design is Patentable?

My genuine congrats go out to the "Amazing" for putting himself through my little challenge, even though it took place in the hotel lobby, Mike did his thing and through success became the unofficial titleholder to the "2012 Legally Blonde cuff challenge". The frontdesk girl kept looking over probably wondering why some guy was making lockpicks right there in the lobby! Second place congrats go to Howy for decyphering a method of "manipulation" for these "diabolical" (Michael's word) cuffs. All in all everyone had a great time, left the event with more cuffs than they arrived with, and with less money too, tee-hee

I used to count down the days til Christmas, now I start the 364 day clock as soon as I make a left out of the Ramada's parking lot! However it snowed so hard and so much coursing through western/central PA. that I was forced to take refuge in a rest area and of course play with some of my new toys until the storm let up.

Thanks for the challenge recap! As some of you know, Shane & I were dealing with a flat tire on a rental vehicle during the contest and missed the affair. Luckily, we made it back just in time for the banquet and the enervating talk about Miller's pancake lock company!

Vince, did I fail to ask you where the quote came from on your Romer t-shirts? Is it yours?

Sorry you guys missed the "pickins".

As for the quote, it was on a poster with pretty mountains, flowers and a stream as the background, I took a picture of it, and had the t-shirt guy (reluctantly) remove the background while keeping the awsome font style, mountains are cool, but you've seen one mountain you've seen 'em all, locks/cuffs on the other hand...
