When did Smith and wesson start manufacturing their own handcuffs under the Smith and Wesson name and what was the first model number? How long had the model 90 been in production and what were any major changes? All 3 model 90s I have are of the same basic design but I've seen pics of some that looked a little different and can't figure it out.

1912 is about correct but not under the name Smith & Wesson althought it was stamped on some that were Peerless. When Peerless started they didn't have facilities to make them so they went to S&W to have them made till they got there manufacturing facility. It wasn't probably till sometime in the 50's or 60's time frame when they started selling there own stuff but I won't swear to it. I know S&W was working on the Model 94 in the 60's. There must be someone older than me who remembers...
