There was a request by tim71 to see what an original Takeda box looks like. I can help with that. My Takeda was probably the third cuff that I bought 40 plus years ago. The quality and nickel finish is excellent compared to later cuffs. The keys not so good. They were very soft metal and broke. Price $5.00. After getting into serious collecting I obtained a Takeda leg iron with the same quality as the handcuff. The handcuff and leg iron are a perfect match. Sorry no box for the leg iron.

Thanks so much! I assume this box goes to the cuffs in the gallery. It interests me how copied this cuff is and all the variations. Never saw that box before but the cuffs in my collection are definately from that era.

It seems that my Takeda handcuffs are different (older?). The key looks identical, but the keyholes are of different shape, the chain-links are perfectly round and there is a sun-symbol on the cuff. The restraint is made of nickel-plated brass.
