Mick, is there a post inside of the keyhole? I don't see one and you mentioned it works off a standard key.

There was not a post in the keyhole for some reason. I drilled a hole so that I could use a modified standard key - I inserted a pin into the key to locate in the hole. Over time this key went missing before I mounted the cuffs into the frame. It can easily be replicated though.

I don't believe any of the Bat cuffs had a key hole post. The key hole is very tight on a stardard key which will work fine.

No key post.......boy, the maker must not have very good attention to detail, or he is just sloppy and/or lazy. Also, I hope the maker obtained permission and paid DC Comics for the rights to make these cuffs. Some people over on the Magic Cafe' seem to think this kind of thing is out right thievery. =)

Well thankfully this is not the Magic Cafe, so we can avoid the kiddy arguments over rights owed. On another note I wouldn't suggest challenging Ian's skill set or quality. Most of us have pieces from Ian that we believe will one day will be of higher value and highly collectable amongst themselves. I guarantee that 130+ years ago no one thought Palmers, Romers, Rankins or even the Guiteau would one day be collectable. Attacking Ian's personality or comments is by all means your prerogative but attacking his life's work is just silly and likely won't be met with appreciation from many here. I'm not being a dick to you Michael just stating my opinions on the matter is all.

Well i hate that if you post something on ebay leave it up.I was watching these and wanted to bid next It would have been helpful to thoese who have a pair to see what value they bring.

I agree, advertising them here, putting them on ebay and then pulling the auction is not very good style. Either offer them here (with a date for offers), or put them on ebay.

A lot of people get disappointed this way.

No problem Ian, I still proudly display my Houdini Mirror cuff with the Bramah cylinder that you made......I think it was your best work. However, I have sold or traded off many of my other pieces you made through the years. Also, I am not too proud to say that I do not have the tools or ability to make certain keys, like the plug 8 and Darby screw keys; way too much work when you don't have proper tools.
