Polish Cuffs??

I just received a pair of unmarked swing through cuff with a screw type key way at the top of the cuff. The bows have round holes where two prongs are engaged to lock them. The key pulls the two prongs out to release the bow.

The seller says they are German WW ll and came out of Poland.

Doing some searching from previous posts I found some posts by Josef stating that if the swivels were ball shaped they were made in Poland. Most of the pictures have been removed but Josef's site showed several pair.

Here are some pictures of the cuffs. Any comments as to origin wound be appreciated. I assume they are 1930-1940's.

I believe they are Russian although many seem to show up in German auctions. I agree with the time frame of late thirtys or fortys.

There is also a more modern version of the side lock.

Hi to all,

they are definitely Polish. I have got an old book for Polish policemen from the early 1960s - this book deals on the transports of prisoners and arresting techniques.

There are also some parts about Polish handcuffs from that time and these handcuffs are clearly photographed there. I believe they come from the 1950s, possibly used till the 1970s.

Not Russian, not German. I am 100% sure about that.Approx 5 or 6 models exist, I keep one with Polish patent numbers and manufacturer marks.

Josef, I got the information form a previous post that you made and my swivels look like they are ball shape. Also, thanks for the date info. Do you have any more information and to what company made them?

Maybe I should get a brass tag with a prison name (Yuma?) and solder it on the cuffs.
