"Speedmaster" is a general term...that was coined by the Chicago "American Munitions Co." - for their handcuffs & legirons (barrel-key & solid-key models). The term "Speedmaster" is in their ads.
"American Handcuff Co." (Fond du Lac, Wis.) - I assume kept that term for their own early product line too (early 1960's).
