I will have the opportunity to buy this book directly from the author.
As I live in the states, I offer anyone in the states the option of getting a copy without the high shipping rates from Europe. Please let me know in this thread and I will be able to mail yours once I get back home.
The book will be the same cost (calculating dollars for euros)and shipping from me to you You can specify media mail or priority mail.
The shipping will be certainly less than 24 Euro fee that is the figure now.
There will be less exposure to damage or getting lost as well.
If the first book is available, I wil get some of them too if anyone is interested.

I am doing this at no profit as I hope the favor may be returned one day to me or other collectors.

It's a very good idea to bring books back to the US from the convention in order to
save on shipping costs and payment fees!

I will send JM Robin an email asking him how many books of the first volume
are still left and ask him to bring these to the convention.

Hi,
I crunched the numbers and found the following:

Each of the books (Vol 1 or 2) is 38 Euros. The currency conversion comes out to $49.40 based on $1.30 dollar to euro plus the bank fee at 2 1/2%

Priority mail is $5.20 and will work for up to 6 books (I believe)

So,,, 1 book will cost $54.60
2 books will cost $104

To make a comparison:

Assuming that 2 books cost the same as 1 book post paid from Europe, the cost would be:
$80.60 for 1 book delivered
and
$130 for both.(or more if the postage is more due to weight)

I figure at least a $26 savings. , I hope this helps.

Lindsey, hello. I applaud your kindness, but before you commit to this project, or especially commit to a specific price, you might want to reconsider the postage charges involved within the U.S.

M. Robin's 1st book is very high quality and heavy paper and weights about 2 lbs. It measures approximately 12" x 8". I think we can assume that Vol. 2 will be similar in size and weight. If sent via Media Mail or ordinary Priority Mail the postage would depend on the distance of the purchaser from yourself. You might want to consult the USPS web site and calculate the worst-case scenario from where you live. You might also want to factor in the costs of a large padded envelope.

You wrote, "Priority mail is $5.20 and will work for up to 6 books". $5.20 is the rate for a small Flat Rate box, and not even one copy of the book would fit in such box. Six copies would, in fact, fit into a Medium Flat Rate box, but the postage for this is $11.35.

I just didn't want to see you get tagged with some unexpected costs in return for your good intentions.

Well, we have the wrench thrown into the works.
I just got word from Ron S. that the Volumn 1 book is NOT 38 Euros----It is 44.
He wrote to the author and was given the price for Vol 1.
Perhaps it is a larger book or maybe he had to reprint it at a lower quantity.
I will find out.

So now we have :
Vol 1 with stateside priority mail @ $60.75
Vol 1 and 2 with "" " " @ $117.95

I will start collecting this fee from those who reserved their books and will go on to say that part of the deal is I may need to collect more if other factors (such as what Tom and Ron have found)
As I am doing this at no profit, I want to break even and not have to absorb any overages that may occur.
The only thing left that could happen is that the dollar becomes exceptionally weak in the next 3 weeks when I plan on buying my euros.
I am not worried about this but want to cover my bases.
