What does everbody think of these Mattatuck/Plug 8 cuffs being sold on ebay?

They look in good condition but I am of the opinion the price is too high.
Especially since the plug in the 8 is a modern made repro.
IMHO, adding a modern piece to an old one detracts from the value of the old item.
Sure, it does make them as they once were but such an addition should be considered a form of "restoration" and not as a value "plus".

#3$400 starting price is way high for my blood... And even if he had the paperwork to prove it, I don't think it would increase the value that much.
