Now I have seen it all. The item listed in the title is up for sale on eBay, #3968038899. If you look at the pictures. It clearly is not a thumbcuff.




So what is it?

The patent date of November 15, 1892 is given so I went looking on the US patent site.

It is a "combined umbrella and satchel fastener."



I think Mark Lyons needs this for his collection.

Yes, I wish I had one of these locks. It seems as though I lost my satchel just yesterday!
