The entire area is a total mess and it will be for many days. All transportation is down, 82% of Long Island homes are without power. But I have had it easy. My house is in development that has underground power and my electricity have not gone off.

I'm pretty much as far west as you can get in pennsylvania and so far still have power. We had some pretty good winds and alot of rain, but other than some trees down it hasn't been too bad.

Hope everyone is doing OK, I was in central Maine when the storm blew through NY/NJ. Driving down 95 I saw little damage until I reached the NY/CT border where all those orange highway message boards on wheels were flipped over like picnic tables. Darkness on both sides of the highway with long lines at the lone open gas station. Here in Jersey LOTS of power out, more than half, my block included. Some empty railroad tank cars were lifted from their trucks & floated towards the turnpike. Only personal damage was the "storm door"(and it's frame) ripped off & ended up down the block. Also a 6" limb missiled through the museum's roof that I volunteer at - thankfully no loss to any artifacts!

Thanks to the storm on east coast weather in Missouri is so messed up my storm door flew off almost hit the car highway driving is a pain everyone driving slow.

Even us San Diegans were affected by the storm Sandy.
Here is some of the havoc Mother Nature dealt to us.





On the serious side, I hope all affected did not experience much of a losss and life will be back to normal quickly and that any losses are at a minimum.
