Back in 07, the members of The 1966 Batman Message Board discussed production of a fully functional pair of Batcuffs HERE.

I recall that the original Batcuffs from the DC Comics series resembled Tower long chain cuffs, with a bat-winged shaped case. The 1966 television series retained this motif, while the 1990's Batman films gave the "Bat Gear" a high-tech facelift.
