American Handcuff Company

Well it has been awhile since AHC sold out to ASP.

I was kinda surprised, since the quality of their handcuffs has greatly improved since the days of suppling the US Govt contracts.

Does anyone know just why they were sold?

They had some patents under the name of Tubin (?) which I think was the last name of the owner. One was an interesting handcuff that was opened with a "fluid" (water or air?) device/pump instead of a key.

Also was surprised that ASP did not continue the A-105's, they were the only NIJ lightweight at that time.

Hi, the name was Tolbin (Tolbin Tool and Die was the last owner) AHC could not compete with S&W and Peerless and the Tolbin family decided to concentrate their money and resources on the tool and die biz rather than the flagging AHC.
