Hello everyone out there. Happy New Year! I'm new to this forum. I love to collect handcuffs. I'm mostly interested in newer handcuffs. I would like to become a cop in the future. I have Peerless model 700's, Smith&Wesson M100s and 300s. I also have Chicago model 1100, A.S.P. model 100s and Fury Tactical hinge cuffs. I hope everybody has a wonderful 2013 year!

Thank you for the welcoming as well. I've been trying to find a good forum to talk to others about restraints but have not been able to find one. Everybody else I talk to about restraints is like "What???". I'm very happy to of found such a wonderful forum. I would like to thank Joe as well. This is a very nice forum. Good work!!

I was simply attempting to be funny at my first (only made the one) posting, no mocking intended. This is a great fourm and I've made some great frienships through this site as well learned as tons. As long as you keep a good attitude and take some things with a grain of salt you will find this forum spectacular. If you have an attitude like "nunyo" (lame) you probably wont be very liked by anyone let alone the collectors here. Since youre new to the site and looking for others to share and learn from you should consider making it to the Indy show. There will be a ton of cuffs (particularly in your era of interest) and plenty of collectors to meet and get to know.

I was not talking about you(unless you were the person doing the leg iron collector, nipper collector etc. Your comment was totally fine. I know "handcuff collector" is plain but I don't want to release my name on the internet. I will know not to listen to nunyo. As for the Indy show, I will try to make it to one. I'm not the biggest collector, I only have 6 sets, but I love to collect. I'm thinking about collecting some older ones but a big reason why I collect is because I would like to become a deputy someday. I buy most of my cuffs on handcuff warehouse. They got some good prices. A year ago I got S&W m100 cuffs for a present. $50 is how much I was told they cost. On handcuff warehouse, $21.94!! Big difference. I will try to make to a Indy show though. Have a great day!!!

if you are a handcuff collector and go to the Indy show, then you will blend in some much no-one will know who you are, how about calling yourself handcuff collector #187 and have that number tatooed on your forehead so we know.

If you are seriously interested in collecting / learning about restraint devices both antique as well as some of the new stuff, this is without a doubt the place to learn. Some people on here are leery of posters with generic "names" like CUFFHOARDER112. To them it's just another ANON. It would help your street cred to use your first name. Unless your first name was borrowed from the Celebrity Baby Name Book, and is therefore so odd and identifiable, nobody'll ever know who you are. Don't be embarrased cause you have "only 6 sets"...... unless somebody on here inhereted a collection... we ALL started out with one, then two, then the collecting bug bites, before you know it you'll be measuring your collection by how much it weighs rather than the piece count. Haha!

As for the trolls, toss 'em some goat livers & eyeballs as you walk across their bridge - They often starve for attention.

Joshua doesn't really want you to come to the Indy show for fear of more competitors vying for all the good stuff!

I went on ahead and changed my name. I do understand Ian why you would not sell to a guy with-out his actual name. He might be some bored guy messing with people. So everyone it is now Michael, not handcuff collector any more. Have a good time.

Hi Michael, welcome to Joe's wonderful site.
It not about selling to unknown people, it is to do with separating all the anon's from all the others.

Because we cannot , I don't even respond to them. There are many collectors here who give willingly of time, information, research, advice and they can be contacted.
The people who stay ANONOYMOUS, mainly make stupid comments, know nothing, put in their ideas which are commonly wrong and cannot be held to account. If they dont have a valid e-address you cannot even privately email.
They are happy to come here, feed and leave and not really offer anything in return.

I still haven't heard a valid reason to remain anon unless you live in a communist country, have criminal history or are a terrorist.

Ian, sorry to tell you this but you are wrong, dead wrong! Many anons have contributed much here but people like you are just hung up on the fact that they don't put their real name up with the post. Besides, what you may not know is that some of the people who put a real name up have actually used a real sounding fake name, I know for a fact several people posting here are presently doing that. So which is better, a anon who contributes something worth wild or a fake name user who contributes nothing of value but sounds legit?
