New Pawn Stars

Last night the show Pawn Stars had a great collection of nippers and come alongs. They "bought" the collection for $6000 after being apprised by Murray, the expert for $10,000.

The only mistake I saw was Murray holding a model 2 Pratt and calling it a model 1. The model 1 was on the counter with the other nippers. Too bad they did not take the entire collection out of the bag since there were many great nippers and the condition was very good.

Ron-the Pawn Stars that I saw had the store buying the collection for $8100. I think it was the same collection that was on ebay some time ago with an asking price was $10,000. I agree that what was shown were some nice items. The seller sold the collection to remodel a kitchen. Happy wife, happy life!!!

I stand corrected on the selling price, Damon is correct.

It also looked like the spring on the Bean Policeman Hook was broken. The movable bow showed no spring action when moved.

I wonder who owns this collection (Murray?) since it really is in good condition and a lot there.

I know the seller and was aware of the show a month or more ahead of time. It is legit although the there is certainly production involved. He did indeed sell his collection to the pawn shop. I'd say that he got a decent price and I know he was happy with end result.

I don't have a list of all that was in his collection. The taping actually wasn't too long ago so I would anticipate that the collection or at least the majority of it is still for sale. I would be curious to know how they price each piece out. With that many items I doubt they can track down recent prices for them all. I will email the previous owner and ask if he has a list of what was in his collection.

Hey all,
I saw that episode tonight, but hopped in the shower before Murray came by. It reminded me that I had recieved an old Iron Claw from a REAL Old School friend when I became a cop years ago. I brought it to a hand cuffing class, and was quickly told to put it away by the instructor, lol. I also carried these in Iraq for the year I was there as an MP, but luckily never needed to use them. I am trying to find their value and approximate age so...
They are Argus-Jay Pee with both Patent numbers on one side, and "The Iron Claw" with serial number 3542 on the opposite side, with no made in Taiwan markings. As far as I can tell, they are in pretty good condition, fully functioning. I am interested in selling them, and am looking for some information to make an informed sale.
If anyone can provide any insight, and perhaps the best way/place to sell them, I'd appreciate it.

Strike 2 for Murrry: First it was saying "Darci" instead of "Darby"...and now it was mis-calling a Pratt Combo model.

...But, I'll say it again - he knows very LITTLE about handcuffs (but, he doesn't need to). He's a master self-promoter, and he got himself the job of being the "magician expert" on "Pawn Stars"---not a bad gig for the national exposure.

Everyone knows Copperfield, Penn/Teller, Sigfried/Roy, Henning, Mavin, Burton, and other, but never did I hear of this guy
