Towers cuffs used in US Navy

Here are two examples of Towers Cuffs used by the US Navy. First up is a set of bar cuffs with the Navy stamp on the bar. I got these from a military dealer nearby who had promised me 4 yaers ago that he "Had a few cuffs somewhere in the garage" Every week I'd ask if he found them yet, and every week he said"Not yet- still looking!". Then a few months ago he found them. My god! He sold me these, a pair of #3 Palmers with the chain, a pair of flat key Dollar Cuffs, and a pair of Hamburg 8s! Well worth the wait!. The second pair here are long chain Towers that my dad confirmed were used in WWII. He was on the USS Wisconsin during the entire war, and said that he used similar cuffs on Shore Patrol. He also said that they were painted Battleship Gray because when the Officers ordered the sailors to "Paint everything", they painted EVERYTHING. Including hammers, signs, and othert hings that really didn't need painting! The long chain Towers are thinner than any other Towers in my collection. Maybe they were made by another company with a Government Contract?? .

OMG!!!Those are so wonderful Anyone who wants Towers would love to have them They are so cool Wonderful wow Do you know the connection with the US Navy and Humphrey Bogart Many people do not but it is a handcuff story He was a sailor during the first World War and when he was escorting a prisoner in Tower handcuffs off of a ship the prisoner broke away and in so doing hit Bogart in the mouth and cut his lip badly He never recovered from that And that is why he talked the way he did
