Been a while since I have seen any posts about cuff calipers, or even seen them listed for sale any where.
Another historical oddity?
And for those with them, are they now fantastically collectible?

They came out late 2005/early 2006. As I recall, there was some lawsuit somewhere (probably California) in which a police department was sued for wrist damage and some entrepreneur came up with the brilliant idea of adding hash marks and numbers to the bow. I rather think he may have somehow been inspired by the line from the O.J. Simpson trial: if the glove don't fit, you gotta acquit.
While I don't know for sure, I think a lot of them that were offered for sale were after-market items; the retailer bought standard cuffs and then laser etched the markings on them. What I don't recall is whether the manufacturers themselves (i.e. S&W, Peerless) ever offered factory cuffs with those markings. To me, for collection purposes, that would make a difference; well, that is, for anyone who cares about such nuances.
I always thought the things were rather silly and unnecessary.
