Old Handcuffs and Ball & Chain for sale

Hi, I'm new to this thing.. I stumbled across this website looking for information on some stuff that I found. My father and I was doing some demolition on the old Women's prison, and Asylum out at Eastern State Hospital area in Spokane/Medical Lake, WA. I stumbled across and old pair of handcuffs, and a real leg shackle with a ball and chain.. I can post pictures if anyone is interested -- curious to know what this could be worth? I believe they are no older than the 1900's.

I like the ball and chain but the handcuffs and the legiron are pretty common

I have just heard from Eric that he has done a lot of research and it's not a "replica".
(what ever that means).

I had suggested to him that the ball was one thing, the cuffs were another (Indian/Pakistan)and then there was a half leg iron. But all together, I think he is on a winner, one of the most sort after, rare and authentic pieces of steel I have ever seen.

It first glance i would agree with Ian that the Cuffs are not old.

The Bean leg iron is only half of one and on a different chain to the ball.

I would need to see how the link is attached to the ball before I comment.
Is it welded on or embedded in the ball?

The modern made Pakistan cuffs appear to be inserted through and locked onto one of the ball and chain links. It does NOT appear to be a permanent fixture to the devise and should be removed or cut off.

The leg iron also appears to be the left over remains of a once good Bean leg Iron which had the opposite side go bad for some reason....and then attached to the ball and chain.

The ball looks nice but I think it is foreign to the Bean LI and absolutely never had any relationship to the Pakistani cuffs.

As most factory made Ball and Chains had a swivel, this example is minus that feature too.

Therefore, I would be interested to learn what aspect of Eric's research produced the conclusive indication that this item is genuine and not a replica.
